Keynote speakers include Jane Castor, Mayor of the City of Tampa and Anirban Basu, Chairman & CEO of Sage Policy Group, Inc. Presenters will include public officials, economists, members of the Florida Chamber of Commerce and more. The event will also feature a CEO panel discussion providing insight on business, challenges and solutions for the Tampa Bay and Hillsborough County region. Hillsborough County Commissioner
Sandra Murman was elected as a County Commissioner in 2010, representing District 1. She was re-elected without opposition in June 2012, and subsequently re-elected to her third term in November 2016. She was elected by her fellow commissioners as Chairman of the BOCC for 2017-18. She serves as Vice Chair on the CareerSource Tampa Bay Board of Directors.
Commissioner Murman served as Chairman of the BOCC for 2014-15, and as Vice Chairman of the BOCC in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2016. Prior to joining the County Commission, she completed eight years as a member of the Florida House of Representatives from 1996-2004. Representative was the first Republican woman to hold the position of Speaker pro tempore in the Florida House of Representatives. As a longtime resident of Hillsborough County, Commissioner Murman has spent many hours volunteering her time as a community advocate and a public policy leader.
Mayor of the City of Tampa
Jane Castor is the 59th Mayor of the City of Tampa. She was born and raised in Tampa, Florida, and is a 31-year veteran of the Tampa Police Department who served in nearly every capacity of the department and every area of the city. Castor is dedicated to workforce development and leads a Workforce Development Advisory Team that is committed to fostering a strong and talented workforce in Tampa.
Chairman & CEO
Sage Policy Group, Inc.
Anirban is Chairman & CEO of Sage, an economic and policy consulting firm in Baltimore, Maryland that he founded in 2004. Mr. is among the most recognizable economists, in part because of his consulting work on behalf of numerous clients, including prominent developers, bankers, brokerage houses, energy suppliers, law firms and business associations.
Mr. has written several high-profile economic development strategies on behalf of government agencies and non-profit organizations and has co-authored economic development strategies for Baltimore City and Baltimore County, Maryland. Among other things, Anirban serves as the chief economist to Associated Builders and Contractors (national) and as chief economic advisor to the Construction Financial Management Association.
NAWB President & CEO
Painter has traveled the country meeting with state and local workforce leaders identify cutting-edge practices and programs and understand how best to spread innovative trends in human capital development throughout the nation-wide job training system. Ron is a Board Member of the Committee for Education Funding and the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council and is a Patron of Volition Community for the Manchester Cathedral in Manchester, England.
CEO – EmSI
Andrew Crapuchettes is the chief executive officer of Emsi. Since joining the company as their third employee, he has led Emsi’s transformation from a small consulting firm into an international data and software company. In 2018 he oversaw the sale of Emsi to Strada Education Network℠ (Strada) and is actively growing the company under the new leadership. Andrew has over 20 years of experience in the high-tech industry, working with 3D modeling, data modeling, and software design. He speaks internationally on topics of the economy, business, higher education, workforce planning, and religion. He has also helped start several businesses, including Populi, Element Robot, NaviGo, and others. In addition to his work in business, Andrew has served as a trustee of New St. Andrew’s College, and currently serves on the board of Logos School, ACCS (Association of Classical Christian Schools), and Canon Press. He and his lovely wife, Elise, live in Idaho with their five children.
CEO Panel Discussion
CareerSource Tampa Bay collaborated with the CEO Council of Tampa Bay to choose the leading CEOs in the area to gain insight on business, challenges and solutions in Tampa Bay.
INDUSTRY BREAKOUT SESSIONS
Those attending the event can attend one breakout session. A moderator will lead the discussion and get input on salaries, trends, industry needs, educational requirements and jobs needed in these industries.
The goal is create a Vision 2020 for the Tampa Bay/Hillsborough County region to improve our workforce.
The industry breakout sessions will be held in an effort to receive valuable feedback from industry leaders attending the conference.
