Adrian Fernandez
Adrian Fernandez is a 12th grade high school student. He enjoyed the opportunity that SJC gave him due to the training experience and the guest speakers, who all gave excellent advice.
He enjoyed that the program taught him a lot about job interviews, such as how to dress and market himself to potential employers. Adrian liked when the speakers spoke about their own business, since he wants to start up his own business as well. His favorite presenter was Vanessa, CEO of Licencia para Divertirse. He liked how she described her journey of coming to the United States, started building her business, and became an opportunist. He was able to connect with her and feel motivated.
Adrian would encourage partaking in SJC due to how much he got out of the program, and has already told others to join next year. “There’s something for everyone,” he stated. While COVID-19 has prevented Adrian from interacting with others, he now has more time to develop his interests. He tries to maintain a positive mindset during these times by taking advantage of the moments he has to pursue his goals.
