This program would not be possible without the support of businesses who want to help mentor our youth.
Summer Job Connection is a workforce development summer youth employment program where employers play a vital role in building the future talent pipeline for youth ages 16 to 24.
“This program would not be able to succeed without our business engagement,” said Jennifer Wilson, Summer Job Connection Coordinator. “Our business community has been key to our success by meeting businesses’ short term workforce needs, improving our regional talent pipelines and expanding workplace learning opportunities through our paid work experience model.”
The focus of the Summer Job Connection 2020 will be on regionally targeted industries and in-demand jobs which includes:
- Manufacturing/Construction/ Building Trades
- Financial Shared Services
- Information Technology.
CSTB plans on serving up to 1,500 youth in 2020. During the summer of 2019, CSTB assisted with hiring 560 youth who participated in the program. There were 90 employers who took advantage of the program last summer.
