CareerSource Tampa Bay Announces Business and Education Summit

~Vision 2022 to highlight demands of the Tampa Bay job market~

 

TAMPA, FL – CareerSource Tampa Bay will hold an education and business summit on Monday, January 10, 2022. Vision 2022: Shaping the Future of Work will be held at the Tampa Marriott Water Street in downtown Tampa. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with coffee and networking starting at 8:30 a.m.

Individual registration for the event is $50 per person. Sponsorships are also available for businesses who want to help underwrite the event or would like to register multiple individuals.

“We held the Vision 2020 event in February 2020, just before the pandemic hit,” said CEO John Flanagan. “This will be the first time we’ve had a major event since the pandemic. This will be a great opportunity to get the pulse of the community as it pertains to our workforce in Tampa Bay.

” The keynote speaker for the event will Chef Jeff Henderson, an award-winning chef, The New York Times best-selling author, entrepreneur, television personality, and highly soughtafter speaker on personal and professional development.

Jeff started his culinary career in the unlikeliest of places: prison. While serving nearly ten years, he discovered an untapped passion for cooking, which led to executive chef positions at Bellagio and Caesars Palace.

Other confirmed speakers include Tampa Mayor Jane Castor, who will speak on her workforce initiatives in Tampa, and Dr. Chris Laney from EMSI speaking on workforce trends.

This year’s event will feature eight industry breakout sessions and three-panel discussions. Attendees will gain valuable insight on workforce opportunities and challenges post-Covid, learn of talent education challenges, and the skills required to advance businesses in Tampa Bay.

A Business Sector CEO Panel will be helmed by Ben Hom the CSTB Chair and moderated by CareerSource Tampa Bay CEO John Flanagan and National Association of Workforce Boards, President and CEO Ron Painter.

The CEO Panel will be joined by Earl Buford, the President of the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning or CAEL, and Jill St. Thomas, CEO of Tampa Bay Tech.

The Education Panel will include Henry Mack, the Chancellor at the Florida Department of Education, Dr. Jeffrey D. Senese, the President of Saint Leo University, and Addison Davis, Hillsborough County Public Schools Superintendent. A Women in Business Panel is also planned with Lakshmi Shenoy, the CEO of Embarc Collective and Suzanne Ricci, the Chief Success Officer at the Computer Coach Training Center.

Breakout sessions will also be featured where business leaders can join the workforce discussion and help to shape future initiatives and programming for the following industry sectors:

• Construction / Clean Energy Initiatives

CareerSource Tampa Bay will compile insights gained at the summit and publish a report that will inform future workforce programs. The goal is to gain feedback on industry needs, the vision for the future of work, talent challenges and skills required to take businesses to the next level.
