Tampa Bay Startup Quest

CareerSource Tampa Bay is one of eight workforce boards in Florida launching Startup Quest™. Startup Quest™ is an innovative entrepreneur training program designed for degree-holding professionals to gain first-hand experience creating and developing business plans to bring new inventions and technologies to the market. Participants will work closely in teams under the mentorship of successful entrepreneurs and business leaders to experience how to start and grow a new venture by developing cutting edge technologies into products and services. The intensive training environment allows participants to conduct market research, develop necessary financials, plan a corporate structure, and find the value proposition of the business. Participants will be introduced to advanced technological discoveries from NASA, federal labs, and Florida’s state universities. Startup Quest™ provides an opportunity to go through the steps for launching a business in a simulated environment; the businesses aren’t real but the lessons learned are. Startup Quest™ is a ten week program; during the first nine weeks of training, each team develops a business plan for commercializing a new technology, and the training culminates at the 10th session where teams face-off in a pitch competition.

Last day to drop off applications is Friday, August 29, 2014, however, completed applications can be brought to the Information Session on Wednesday, September 3, 2014.
