D.W. (Dick) Powell has brought together the facts of starting a business and the importance of how to maintain it to be successful in a way all can understand. His business acumen started at an early age with his first business at eleven years old.

Earning enough to send himself to Boy Scout summer camp. He continued with a thirty-year service with a major telecommunications company rising to the level of Interim Director of Outside Plant Instruction. He has since gone on to start new companies, revive struggling companies and encouraging the entrepreneurial spirit. He has created Earth Wind Fire Water Training and Development as a way of helping everyone achieve their dreams of owning their own successful company.

His company is the bridge between academia and real life.

Dick is married to his best friend and business partner, Robin for forty-two years and counting.

What is PNG?

CareerSource Tampa Bay runs the Professional Networking Group (PNG).  PNG is a professional level networking group which provides candidates an opportunity to network with other professional level candidates and receive support and encouragement through the very difficult time of job loss.

Networking is currently the number one way that professional level candidates are obtaining employment and attending PNG offers candidates a possibility to network with other professionals who are actively seeking employment. It provides motivation and tool development for effective job search.  The instance to meet 1:1 with employers and experts in the career search industry. 

Candidates can receive career coaching and have the opportunity to work with a Career Placement Specialist, develop an Individual Employment Plan and set realistic, achievable goals that will keep you focused on your job search and the opportunities that are available.

What are the eligibility requirements?

PNG is open to candidates at bachelor’s level degree or higher professionals and/or those candidate who have 10 plus years of higher level management experience.
