Employability Skills Training courses allow career seekers to build their resume, learn how to get the most out of Employ Florida Marketplace, build on their interview skills and gain some computer skills. And, best of all, these weekly courses are offered at no cost!
To register for a session, please send an email within 48 hrs prior to the class that you would like to attend. Once registration is confirmed you will receive a confirmation that guarantees you a seat.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start time as this will allow for time to check in. Walk-in customers will be accepted, if there is available seating. Late admittance to any workshop is not permitted.

Basic Computers (2 hours)
Learn the basic functions of a computer, including hands on tutorials for using a mouse and keyboard.
Breaking Barriers to Employment (2 hours)
Learn to identify common barriers to employment and how to deal with those barriers on job applications, re-sumes and interviews.
Computer Skills for Your Resume (2 hours)
Learn how to create and format a document using Mi-crosoft Word. Learn how to navigate the internet and read a webpage to aid in successful job searching.
This hands-on workshop is for those who already have basic computer skills.
EmployFlorida Marketplace Orientation (2 hours)
Learn how to navigate EFM website. Through the features such as job search, create a virtual job recruiter and other more of EFM.
Employment Success (2 hours)
Once you become employed, what are the steps to maintain employment? Discuss workforce changes, employer expectations, pitfalls and how to handle con-flicts at work. Learn how to continue developing skills which can lead to promotions and other job opportuni-ties.
Employment Transition (2 hours)
Are you ready for the changing workplace? . Learn how to reinvent yourself, use transferable skills and perhaps go back to school for that new job or career.
Job Power (2 hours)
Power your job search with this seminar! Topics include changes in the employment market, hidden job market, skills employers are looking for and dealing with the stress of being unemployed.
Job Search Computer Skills (1.5 hours)
Uploading, Downloading (including EFM Resume and Cover Letter), Attaching to an Email, Job Search Log, Emails, etc. are essential job skills. Learn how by at-tending this workshop.
Labor Market Information (LMI) 101 (1.5 hours)
Learn the importance of using LMI in your job search and new career! Discover the hot occupations and industries, using websites such as BLS.gov and Ca-reerOneStop.org
Labor Market Information (LMI) 102 (1.5 hours)
Discover local and state LMI information, using web-sites such as EmployFlorida Marketplace (EFM) and FREIDA.
LinkedIn Orientation (1.5 hours)
Heard of LinkedIn and want to learn more? Get the basics of LinkedIn and the opportunity to set up your profile. See you there!
LinkedIn Laboratory (1.5 hours)
Already have a LinkedIn profile? Want information on improving your existing profile? Then this hands-on workshop is right for you. You should have basic computer skills to attend and remember to bring your user name and password.
Online Applications (2 hours)
Come and learn how to effectively apply to jobs using the various online methods.
Professional Interviewing Skills (2.5 hours)
Learn what interviews are all about and how to pre-pare for a successful interview. Discussions will in-clude the various types of interviews, common inter-view questions, along with what to do before, during and after an interview.
Re-Employment Assistance Orientation (RA) (CONNECT) (1.5 hours)
Learn how to navigate RA website. Overview of the new RA process using the CONNECT web-based claims management system.
Resume Development (2 hours)
The resume is important in today's job search. Under-stand what a resume is, how to target your resume and the different types of resume.
Resume Writing Lab (2 hours)
This lab is designed for job seekers with an existing resume who want to work on revising their resume while getting up to date information on resume devel-opment. Please bring an electronic copy of your re-sume to this workshop.

A series of job hunting videos was created to provide career seekers with additional training resources that will help them become more marketable to hiring employers. These videos focus on employability skills topics such as: appropriate interview attire, improving your interview skills, résumé writing and cover letters, work readiness, and information about your local one-stop center.
